The subprime mortgage crisis hits

Due to their lean structure and low overhead, House of Finance Inc. weathered the storm with a continued focus on client service. House of Finance Inc. kept all employees through that period – something Roland says strengthened internal culture and loyalty.

HOF gains the ability to underwrite, process and fund loans

“We became more of a full-fledged bank at that point,” Roland says. “We began processing and approving our own loans without having to rely on anyone else… we were no longer a small potato.”

House of Finance Center opens

In January 2012, the House of Finance Center at 2300 N. King Street opened its doors. The new offices and commercial space were built just up the street from their original office. After Evelyn spotted the piece of land, she knew it was right, and Roland worked out a deal to purchase it from Nissan.
